A Mystery Shopper Study
 Methodology
This study was conducted to compare repair cost estimates between
MAACO, auto dealer-operated body repair shops and independent
shops. Each facility that was "shopped" in this
study was unaware they were participating in a research study.
Each was shopped three times by different study participants.
Summary
When compared to auto dealer body repair shops, MAACO's
repair estimates averaged 43% lower.
- MAACO provided a lower repair estimate in 22 out of 30 cases.
When compared to independent auto body repair shops, MAACO's repair estimates averaged 24% lower.
- MAACO provided a lower repair estimate in 20 out of 30 cases.
On average MAACO's repair estimates are
43% lower, which
is very important if the customer is paying for the repairs out
of their own pocket.
